Privacy Notice on the Protection and Processing of Personal Data
This is a convenience translation of the Turkish notice prepared under Law No. 6698 on the Protection of Personal Data. In case of any discrepancy, the Turkish version prevails.
Data Controller
Your personal data may be processed by Hound İstanbul, acting as data controller, within the scope described below and in accordance with Law No. 6698 on the Protection of Personal Data (the “Law”).
Purposes of Processing Your Personal Data
If you contact us, the personal data you share through the form (name and surname, e-mail address, company name and, where the message field contains personal data, that data) is processed for the purposes of receiving and responding to your request, contacting you about your request and providing you with feedback;
If you request our newsletter, the personal data you share through the form (name and surname, e-mail address) is processed for the purposes of sending you, and keeping you informed of, national and international developments, legal regulations and the articles and briefings we prepare;
in accordance with the general principles set out in Article 4/2 of the Law.
You may end your newsletter subscription at any time by using the relevant link included in, or at the bottom of, the messages sent to you.
Parties to Whom Your Personal Data Is Transferred and Purposes of Transfer
The personal data collected may be transferred by HOUND İSTANBUL, within the scope of the Purposes and in accordance with the fundamental principles set out in the Law and the personal data processing conditions in Articles 8 and 9 of the Law, to legally authorised public institutions, private institutions and other association members.
Method and Legal Basis of Collecting Your Personal Data
Your personal data is collected by HOUND İSTANBUL through electronic means, by your completing the membership form on our websites, in order to fulfil the purposes stated above.
The personal data collected will be processed for the purposes stated in this Notice on the legal grounds set out in Article 5(2) of the Law: paragraph (c) “establishment or performance of a contract”, paragraph (ç) “necessity for compliance with a legal obligation”, paragraph (e) “establishment, exercise or protection of a right” and paragraph (f) “necessity of processing for the legitimate interests of the data controller”.
Your Rights as a Data Subject under Article 11 of the Law
As a data subject, you have the following rights under Article 11 of the Law:
- To learn whether your personal data is being processed,
- To request information if your personal data has been processed,
- To learn the purpose of processing your personal data and whether it is used in line with that purpose,
- To know the third parties, in Türkiye or abroad, to whom your personal data is transferred,
- To request the correction of your personal data if it is incomplete or inaccurate, and to request that the correction be notified to the third parties to whom your personal data has been transferred,
- To request the erasure or destruction of your personal data where the reasons requiring its processing no longer exist, even though it was processed in accordance with the Law and other relevant legislation, and to request that this be notified to the third parties to whom your personal data has been transferred,
- To object to a result that is unfavourable to you arising from the analysis of the processed data exclusively by automated systems,
- To claim compensation for damage suffered as a result of the unlawful processing of your personal data.
You may submit requests concerning the rights listed above in writing to Büyükdere Cad. Ecza Sok. No:6 Levent / Istanbul / Türkiye or to info@houndistanbul.com, or by any other method prescribed by legislation or by the Personal Data Protection Board. Depending on the nature of your request, it will be concluded free of charge as soon as possible and within thirty days at the latest; however, if the procedure entails an additional cost, a fee may be charged according to the tariff set by the Personal Data Protection Board.
